Hydrocarbon molecules - short conclusion.
Simple molecule (ethane) with one bond under deformation is simple system without peculiar points on the strain-stress (energy and force) curves.
Increasing of the deformation elements number for the system under study leads to discontinuity point creation on the strain-stress curves. It means that system becomes nonlinear at high deformation level.
The rupture strength is the similar for all tested hydrocarbons (between 122 for ethane and 109 for propane - in a.u.). C-C rupture mechanism is free-radical.
Hydrocarbons are rigid molecules due to the Hooke's law region becomes at the very beginning of the strain-stress curves.
One-molecule rupture is completely reversible process, except for conformation equilibrium.
